Sky Above Sand Below and Peace Within

It was a hot summer in March. As newlyweds, we decided to choose goa as our honeymoon destination. It was my first time in goa and my first road trip with my husband. My heart was fluttering with joy as we entered goa. I could see the luscious blue waves from our car window calling out to me in the broad daylight. Before I could enjoy the view further the butterflies in my stomach craved the yummy delicacies of Goa.

We checked in to a hotel quickly ordered lunch. Gosh! The yummy food made me gorge on it as I had never eaten before. With my stomach being full we decided to take a rest.
The clock struck 5:00 pm it was time to take a stroll on the beach. We quickly got dressed for the beach and grabbed a bottle of water (as it was too hot!). We decided to reach our destination by walking rather than riding as it would help us burn some calories, which was a kind suggestion given to me by my fitness freak husband.

As we were nearing the beach, I could feel the breeze of the sea gushing on to my face welcoming me. I stepped my foot onto the grainy sand of the beach and felt the warmth on my toes. I turned around and saw that the beach was crowded, the shacks were playing music which made everybody who entered the beach to dance.

Somehow my husband found a spot where there was less crowd and we settled ourselves to enjoy the view of the beach with the setting sun. I was disturbed, looking at the expression on my face my husband said “Forget the crowd. Enjoy the liveliness of this place. Trust me you will fall in love with this place and would never feel like going back”.

With a grumpy face, I started staring at the sunset, my eyes slowly started drifting towards the people who were enjoying the moment not bothered about the crowd. To my amazement, I found people of different age groups. There was a group a middle-aged men and women who were performing laughing exercises and behind them were a group of mutts who were puzzled at the strange behavior of the humans. That scenario brought a smile to my face. I nudged my husband to take a walk. As we were enjoying the coolness of the water washing our legs, I saw a group of young boys enjoying the swim throwing water on each other’s faces.

I could hear sounds of excitement yahoo…. There! High up in the sky someone was paragliding. I got goosebumps seeing them flying. I was imagining myself flying trying to hold the sun.
As we walked further there was a family, where the mother was helping her 2-year-old son to build a castle and the father was holding the toddler in water so that he could learn how to swim.
The owners of the boat were coaxing us to go for a ride on their boat but we refused them gently as we decided to enjoy the liveliness of this place. Amidst the hustle and bustle were a group of youngsters who were energetic and bubbly, never getting tired of taking selfies using different filters and poses till got the desired one suitable for their Instagram or other social media posts. I looked at my husband and said “the present gen”. My husband smiled took out his phone and clicked a pic and said “who would not like to click pics”. We giggled and as we walked, I realized that keeping aside our desires and aversions we should enjoy and live every moment of our life… Everything in life does not happen according to our wish because you live only once…
