I was all stressed about going to the office every day and longed every day for a super long break. But when this long break finally came to my hands myself and my friend is sick of it and want to get out of our homes and meet and greet people and inhale some fresh air around us. Fortunately , One beautiful way to break the monotonous routine of work from home regimen is to relax our body and mind by going for a long ride. Long rides have always brought more bonding in family, couples, or friends. I do not know a better way to rejuvenate and relax than hitting the roads.

Travel arrangements for Chennai Tour!

But planning travel arrangements seemed difficult at this time specially but I realized that there are various taxi services providing online self-drive cars booking options which will help us to travel privately. I then dug a little deep into the internet and searched for best car rentals reviews and visited social media sites to know who offer best conditioned , good quality of service and maintenance and only then chose Royal picks. I realized that they have been in the market for the past four years and offer various self-drive car rentals. Royal picks also offer numerous car options like SUVs, sedans, and Innovas for our comfort all at a very reasonable rate. So from all the reviews and suggestions from colleagues I finally booked Royal Picks rental car service and was all set to break the boring Work. Home. Sleep. Repeat. Cycle and hit the Chennai roads!

After all the careful planning, we finally broke the boring Work. Home. Sleep. Repeat. Cycle and hit the roads! We booked a luxury bus from Coimbatore and reached Chennai with no hiccups. To be on the safer side, we intimated the driver before a few minutes of reaching Chennai and fortunately we did not have to wait in the blazing sun since the driver was on time. With all the excitement we jumped into the car to visit our first place on the checklist.

1.Broken Bridge in Chennai

After watching this place in Ayutha ezhuthu and many other films and short films Myself and my friend were very particular about visiting here and clicking pictures. Nothing very fascinating about this place but sometimes as the saying goes most simple things in life would give the most beautiful feeling. This bridge which leads to nowhere has joined many hearts and has blossomed many new relationships and beautiful memories. It is a beautiful place to go for a relaxed walk and talk with loved ones. Far from the noises of the city this place was absolutely a great place to rejuvenate from the stress.

Must remember
To go for a long relaxed walk
Sit by the end of the broken bridge and have some good conversations
Recreate scenes from the films if you are a tiktoker !
Be a little careful by walking around.

2.Theosophical Society in Chennai

It was around 5 in the evening and after a ravishing lunch myself and my friend wanted to go for a relaxed walk but none of the places in our checklist had a place where we could chill and that is when our driver suggested Theosophical society. And who better knows Chennai than a Chennai locality right? So, with no further thoughts we decided to visit the park.

While researching about the park we realized that it was a student-built park to bring unity among diversity. No sooner had we visited the park we were amazed by this amazing greenery campus. It was surrounded by beautiful big trees with roots covering 40,000 square foot. To represent universal brotherhood the Society has Temples, Shrine, Church and Zoroastrian Temple and we were surprised by how accepting all the people were here, We took a peaceful walk around and left the place with a positive vibe.

Must remember
Simple, treat everyone equally.
Visit the popular book store.

3. Lighthouse in Chennai

Myself and my friend were exhausted watching the four walls of your home all these days. So, believed that the Lighthouse is a must visit place. In the usual days if you have climbed up the top and have a view of Chennai that thrill wouldn’t be there but getting to have a look of the scenic beauty now is a different feel and we absolutely felt why Chennai is called Singara Chennai.

Must remember

To enjoy the view and not just click pictures!

DAY 2

4.Beasant nagar beach in Chennai

It was early in the morning that we planned to visit Elliot’s Beach popularly known as the Beasant nagar beach. It is known for its less crowded and serene feel. This beach offers a very relaxing view to the mind and an amazing view to click pictures. And we did get to get our legs wet and play for a while under the sun. Our driver suggested that we visit some of the attractions nearby such as the Church of Velankanni, Asthalakshmi Temple. It was worth visiting as the area was completely quiet and we were able to seek some peacefulness and blessings which were absolutely needed.

Must remember

Pair of sunglasses
Pair of extra shorts
Towels

5. Burma Bazaar in Chennai

Out of all the stuffs that we missed during this lockdown , what hurt us the most was having no human interaction and we were completely sick about doing virtual interaction so we thought we must visit a place just to break this feel . That became true the minute we entered Burma bazaar in Chennai. But before entering we were all suited up safely as the virus had not subsided yet.

Getting its name from Tamil burmese community it is a one stop market for clothes, used books, grey market electronics and super amazing food. It is basically a go to place for anyone who likes to shop on the road. We shopped tons and we were glad that our driver was patient enough to wait for us! We shopped truckloads of stuff, but the rate was unbelievably cheap and no wonder the bazaar has been named one of the best shopping districts in several international lists

6. Arignar Anna Zoological Park/Vandalur Zoo in Chennai

Visiting the largest zoological park in the country, The Vandalur Zoo felt nostalgic. Because I remember visiting here with my father when I was a kid and it is the same thrill that is still in me when I entered the zoo even now. Thousands and thousands of visitors are visiting this first 600 HA public zoo in India which houses more than 1,500 wild species, including 46 endangered species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects. It was again lovely watching these beautiful animals rather than watching people over laptop.

Must remember
Safeguard must
To carry water bottles and snacks
Not to litter and feed animals

Must follow all the rules
Two days of the trip in Chennai came to an end and not a single dull moment. One it was because of the weather and another because of the smooth and easy travel. I must say that he was not just a driver but an amazing local guide. This was indeed a must needed short trip and I am glad that we returned home safe and sound.
