The Country which is known for the symbol of love. it is the same Country know for the brutal cruelty, yes! Bijapur which is now termed as Vijaypura the Victory City. which exhibits its architectural Glory, Monuments, Cultural Values all around the Globe. As soon as we hear Bijapur it is The World Famous GolGumbaz that draws our attention. However Bijapur is not just confined to GolGumbaz there are numerous attractions which is in need of attention. The historical facts left behind must be preserved by the future generation, perhaps it is one of the mysterious cruel acts, performed in 17th Century.

It is a Dark, Desolate and a Mysterious site unsounded in the entire state where none of us urged to visit. This site is enclosed by vacant fields this premises is covered with fallen branches tress & deserted. It is quiet bizarre that most Auto walas earlier never picked passenger to this destination. moreover there’s no way to travel through vehicle, indeed one has to walk all the way to reach the destination.

Well, by now most of us might be wondering about this site. Yess! It is Sath kabar known for dark Tourism in Karnataka. Sath kabar witnesses the tragic massacre death of 60 wives by their husband. Sath in Hindi means 60. This History refer’s back to 17th century times. Apparently Sath Kabar tells us the gruesome history of Afzal Khan the army chief of Ali Adil Shah 11.  During this period, the empire was attacked by Mughals & Marathas However, In the year 1659, Ali Adil Shah 11 Engaged a great war against the Maratha Emperor Chatrapathi Shivaji this was headed by the army chief Afzal khan. Who was a brave army chief & a strong believer of Astrology? Before entering the Battle field he wanted to take the astrologers opinion However The astrologers predicted that Afzal Khan would lose & die in the battle thus the commander Afzal khan before confronting Shivaji decided to kill all his 64 wives before he dies so that they would not remarry. He takes all 64 wives to the nearby well,  drowned all 64 wives & built graves across the well. Apparently people believed that one grave which is empty because during this incident one of his wife tried to escape but eventually met her fate. This Brutal Killing of 64 Wives got the name Saath Kabar. However, though this place has many nationally & internationally heritage sites belonging to both historic &Pre- historic site. We have foot prints of the brutal massacre seen through the artefact’s & a tourist spot to be best known for Dark Tourism.

The government is yet to make the best use of the Tourism potential of this region, there is no sign board installed anywhere around the area displaying the Direction neither there is no road facility to reach the destination Therefore the Government is demanded to take necessary actions to Promote &  preserve the rich heritage site for the better & potential Tourism.
