One can enjoy nature’s trek, take a feel by floating on the backwaters, visit the wildlife sanctuaries or can enjoy the view of the beaches and the tea gardens.
When it comes to food the mention of Kerala cuisine is enough to tantalize your taste bud. The enormous platter of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes will surely delight your palate. One will find a diverse culinary to satiate the stomach. Each dish of Kerala is a unique experience in itself. Whether a spice lover or a sweet lover, the Kerala trip will certainly be proven as a gastronomy treat for everyone. Kerala cuisine is all about flavours and aromas and the dishes are prepared with liberal use of coconut oil and spices in them. Because the state is situated near the Arabian Sea, one will find a variety of seafood dishes. Adding freehand spices to the non-veg dishes makes the meal more sumptuous. Fish, chicken, mutton or prawns, each dish prepared by these items will leave you asking for more. A non-veg lover will get a variety of delicacies to choose from. On the other hand preparation of vegetarian food is done by adding mild spices and plenty of vegetables. Not just sambhar, idli and dosa there are some other mouth-watering dishes to be savoured in Kerala such as Sadya, Kadala Curry, Cheera Thoran, Erissery (Ghee Rice) to name a few. Then to complete a meal diverse range of sweet dishes is available which can’t be afford to miss such as Palada Payasam, Banana Halwa, Neyyappam and Rava Ladoos. A food that gives a local feel of the culture of any destination is the street food and Kerala just has some lip-smacking roadside delicacies as well which will make you drool over. Malabar Parotta, Sundal, Puttu and Kadala Curry, Parippu Vada are some of the street snacks to start your day with during your visit to Kerala.

Kerala is a state which offers everything for everyone. Not only food lovers or nature admirers but also bird-watchers who visit Kerala to photograph the rare bird species. The western ghats are home to more than 500 species of resident and migratory birds. Resident birds of a particular state don’t fly long distances for food and they are adaptable to any season on the other hand migratory birds are the species which crosses the national border, especially during their breeding time (nesting season in India). This city is truly a paradise for bird- watchers. The lush green tropical forests of Kerala will certainly complete the wish list of all the wildlife enthusiasts to sight the rare species. In case you are planning a trip to spend some time in the lap of nature Kerala is a perfect answer to this.
