It’s about that elementary school geography book. With the name of our country, India, almost all of them were in the hands of geography. And India means memorizing its state name. Interestingly, the names of the Union Territories were very well remembered by the children, whether they remembered the names of the states as children or not. And one of the Union Territories is Daman and Diu.

The name Daman and Diu seems to be mysterious. Its name is very different from five other places in the country. Moreover, many are interested in what happens on these two tiny peninsulas above the Arabian Sea. Even a few years ago, the common Bengalis did not think of visiting this union territory. It is not that people go there every now and then. But yes, many are interested in visiting this place.

Speaking of the island
There are two Union Territories in the south of Gujarat. Dadra and Nagarhaveli and Daman and Diu. These two places were merged on January 26, 2020. This place can easily be called the beautiful, clean and clean beach of the country. The Portuguese ruled this place for about four hundred and fifty years. As a result, the impression of Portuguese culture is clear in the clean and tidy Union Territories of the country. There is also a mixture of Gujarati and Marathi culture.

The names Daman and Diu are quite different. It is believed that Daman is named after the river Daman which flows through the Union Territories. And the word diu probably comes from the Sanskrit word island.

The Portuguese started coming and going here from the sixteenth century. Gradually they established a colony there. They ruled here for about four hundred and fifty years. Finally, in 1971, Daman and Diu came under Indian rule.

The way to go

Daman and Diu can be reached by plane, train, bus or car. However, it is not possible to go directly by plane. Surat Airport is the nearest airport in Gujarat. From there the taxi to Daman matches. On the other hand, if you want to go to Diu, you have to get off at Ahmedabad Airport. Daman can also be reached from here. You can also go there by train. The nearest station is Vapi. The distance from Vapi to Daman is only 12 kilometers. You can reach there by hiring a taxi.

If you want to go to Daman Diu by car or bus, it will be beneficial to leave from Surat or Nasik. The roads here are amazing. So there shouldn’t be any problem along the way. Daman and Diu are also well connected to any major city in western India. Daman and Diu, located on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Needless to say, the marine environment and climate are the USP here. Again, this Arabian Sea has divided Daman and Diu into two parts. If you want to spend a few days in peace, you can come back from Daman or Diu or two places. It will be a great experience.

Daman Travel
Daman is a wonderful place. If you keep your feet here, your mind becomes better. The whole area is neatly arranged. The most interesting places to suppress are the beaches. Jampur beach is the cleanest beach in Daman. Hours after hours can be spent here. The most beautiful beach here is Devka Beach. It is as beautiful as it is arranged. There is an amusement park on the beach. Moti Daman Beach is one of the secluded beaches. And the beach full of fishermen and fishermen is Vanakbara Beach. When you come here you will find lots of fresh fish.

Also visit Daman Light House. This is the best place for photography. Come on in, take a look. The fort was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century. Visit the Dominican Monastery. Diu Travel
The ancient and wonderful place is Diu. Here too the beach is scattered. Ghogla Beach, Nagoya Beach, Jalandhar Beach, Chakratirtha Beach, Gomtimata Beach, Simber Beach. Ghogla Beach is one of the cleanest beaches in Diu. Nagoya Beach has white sand. It is the most favorite place of tourists. Jalandhar Beach is named after the giant king of Hindu mythology, Jalandhar. Chakratirtha Beach is a quiet and pristine beach. There is a beautiful garden next to the beach. Gomtimata Beach is horse-shaped. And the atmosphere at Simber Beach is impossibly beautiful.

In addition to the beach, you will find a lot of historical places in Diu. Diu fort is one of them. It is the ancient fortress of the Portuguese rulers. You can come back from Naida cave. In ancient times, criminals or criminals used to hide in this cave. There is an oyster museum in Dii. There are many churches and temples. Like Daman, you can also visit Diu by renting a car. No matter where Daman or Diu goes, you will never understand how time will pass. Many people ride Daman and Diu bicycles. Bicycle rental is available. Diu’s street food is very tempting. Ghogla Beach has various water sports facilities.

If you go to Daman and Diu, you will find all the great seafood that brings water to the tongue. Crab, shrimp, lobster, octopus and other seafood items can be found in the restaurants here. Vegetarian food is also available. You will also find Indian, Chinese, Italian, Portuguese, Moghlai dishes here. You will also get Dhaba style food. There are also soft and hot drinks.

You can also visit Daman and Diu and see the surrounding places. Located close to Somnath Temple, Gangeshwar Temple, Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Bharuch, Gir National Park Daman and Diu. You will find budget hotels and resorts in both Daman and Diu. The hotel rent is a bit high here. Before going here, it is better to book in advance.
