Dindigad Shiva Mandir in Bhiwandi is one of the most prominent spiritual abodes in India is in Sonale, Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. Bhiwandi, is located 20 km from Mumbai and is a commercial city. it is also called “the Manchester of India“. Bhiwandi was initially inhabited by the Kolis and Konkanis and is famous for its textile, handloom, and fishing industries. People from far and wide this peaceful place and this city attracts thousands of pilgrims which get attracted to the unique, spectacular and mysterious Dindigad Shiva Mandir.

The story behind this temple is unbelievable and can invoke immense spirituality and devotion towards Lord Shiva. It is said that the great Lord Shiva, himself appeared in a villager’s dream and told him to free him from the stone that covers his idol and cave. With the help of the villagers, he did the same and explored a magnificent surrounding wall of the temple under the huge Rock stone found in the jungle. They found the mesmerizing Shiv Ling who was a shocking view for the villagers.

It was a miracle in the village of Bhiwandi, and since then, the temple and its surroundings remain untouched. There is no modernization or construction near the temple and thus, it maintains its sanctity, originality, and purity. There is an astounding cave near the temple, which is mysterious and well built. It is not a cave but a secrete tunnel road which is spread approximately half a km in length and 6.5 inches in height. It is an outstanding experience for visitors and a challenging road trip, especially for the bikers to reach the hilt of the Dindigad Shiva Mandir in Bhiwandi. People from various countries visit the place as tourists and tend to explore the mystical beauty and spirituality of the temple.

Dindigad Shiv Mandir is located on the top of a hill near Bhiwandi. Some distance is required to be climb by stairs. The temple provides an amazing view of the surrounding. There is another ancient 400 years old temple behind this temple. Other prominent temples in Bhiwandi are Kaal Bhairav Mandir Bhiwandi, Ayyappa Temple Bhiwandi, Lodha Dham Sai Mandir, Shree Datta Mandir, ISKCON Bhiwandi, Sri Eknath Mandir, and Shyam Baba Mandir Bhiwandi.

The best time to visit is from September to March. This is a great place from where you can look over all Kalyan, Bhiwandi, and even Titwala. Vehicular connectivity up to foothill makes it an easy yet enjoying trip. The monsoon here is immensely beautiful as well, as it offers greenery and scenic beauty to the visitors. Other places to visit in Bhiwandi are Reti Bandar Ulhas River Dombivli, Kolshet Creek, Ganesh Mandir, Lonad Caves, Vasai Creek, and the famous Ghodbunder Road.
